Desi Pantry started when we couldn't find turmeric that tasted like the one our grandmothers ground at home. So we went to Meghalaya and bought Lakadong turmeric straight from the farmers who grow it.
Today we buy from 120 farmer groups across India and pay them 30% above mandi rates. There are no traders or warehouses in between, and nothing sits in a godown for a year.
Every batch is lab-tested for adulteration before it's packed in glass jars and paper pouches in our Bengaluru kitchen.
